🔍 What to Expect
Are you a strategic thinker, natural leader, and environmental expert all rolled into one? This role is designed for someone who can juggle high-impact projects, lead biological assessments, and ensure regulatory compliance—all while fostering strong relationships with clients, regulators, and stakeholders.
Key Highlights of the Role:
• Lead and manage environmental projects from start to finish—keeping them on time, within budget, and exceeding client expectations.
• Supervise and mentor a team of scientists, field technicians, and environmental professionals to deliver high-quality assessments and reports.
• Engage with industry leaders, regulators, and Indigenous communities to ensure projects align with best environmental practices and legal requirements.
• Conduct biological assessments related to wildlife, habitat, and ecosystem health—helping clients mitigate risks while protecting biodiversity.
• Develop and oversee environmental monitoring programs for construction, energy, and infrastructure projects.
• Prepare regulatory applications and approvals under the Wildlife Act, Species at Risk Act, Migratory Birds Convention Act, and more.
• Innovate with GIS mapping, digital field tools, and real-time environmental monitoring to boost project efficiency.

This hybrid role allows you to work from our offices in Calgary, St. Albert, Grande Prairie, or Fort St. John, with opportunities for fieldwork across Western Canada.

📌 What We’re Looking For
We want someone who is not just experienced—but truly passionate about environmental project management and ecological preservation.
Qualifications & Expertise:
• Degree or diploma in environmental science, biology, ecology, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in environmental consulting, biology, or environmental project management.
• Expertise in wildlife biology, terrestrial ecology, and species-at-risk management.
• Strong project management skills—from budgeting and scheduling to team leadership and client communication.
• In-depth knowledge of environmental regulations in Alberta, BC, and Saskatchewan.
• Experience with environmental permitting, biological impact assessments, and mitigation planning.
• Ability to mentor junior staff and lead multidisciplinary teams.
• Professional designation (P.Biol., RPBio, or equivalent) is an asset (or eligibility to obtain one).
• Strong technical writing skills—crafting regulatory submissions, impact assessments, and technical reports.
• Proficiency in GIS mapping, data management, and digital field technology is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to remote locations as needed.
