Job Description:

Join CDM Smith as a Senior Environmental Planning Project Manager and take the lead on exciting projects within our West Transportation Group. This is a unique opportunity for an accomplished professional to manage complex environmental reviews and compliance projects for major transportation agencies across the Western United States. You will be responsible for leading multi-disciplinary teams, mentoring junior staff, managing project scope and budget, and driving marketing and business development efforts.

In this role, you will:
• Oversee and manage environmental compliance and planning projects for transportation, including SEPA and NEPA document preparation and environmental assessments.
• Lead project teams in technical calculations, modeling, data analysis, designs, and field evaluations.
• Utilize your expertise in environmental regulations at local, state, and national levels.
• Define project scope, develop schedules, budgets, and objectives while ensuring stakeholder alignment.
• Identify project risks and develop effective mitigation strategies.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and project management standards.
• Manage project costs to drive profitability, create client billings, and oversee subcontractor invoicing.
• Continuously monitor project status, risks, and implement necessary changes to optimize performance.
• Perform staffing coordination, including identifying external resources and ensuring proper procurement processes.
• Provide coaching and constructive feedback to junior team members.
• Foster strong client relationships and ensure satisfaction through timely and quality project outcomes.
• Collaborate with marketing teams to engage with clients and develop compelling proposals.

Essential Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree
• 10 years of relevant experience with required PMP (PMI), CCM, or DBIA certification (to be obtained within 12 months of hire)
• Willingness to travel domestically and/or internationally as needed.
• Equivalent experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in environmental management or planning for public clients, especially within Washington State and Transit agencies.
• Professional certification such as PE or equivalent.
• Knowledge of SEPA and NEPA processes is an advantage.
• Proficient in project management methodologies, budget development, and project planning tools.

Work Location: Washington - Bellevue

Travel Requirements: 10%

Compensation:

The salary range for this position is between $136,947 and $239,699, depending on experience and qualifications.
