Job Description

Terracon is seeking a Senior Environmental Planner/Environmental Planning Manager in Lawrenceville, GA. The role involves overseeing environmental planning services, preparing NEPA compliance documents, conducting surveys, and coordinating with federal and tribal agencies. Candidates should have extensive experience in environmental planning and regulations. Responsibilities include project management, training staff, and ensuring safety and quality standards. A bachelor's degree or significant experience is required.
About the position

The position involves conducting and overseeing environmental planning services and related personnel, including the preparation of National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) compliance documents, ecological surveys, cultural resource surveys, wetland delineations, air quality evaluations, and noise screening. Candidates should have experience with environmental planning, including the preparation of complex environmental and NEPA documents, coordination with lead federal agencies, tribal representatives, and state agencies, as well as familiarity with navigating environmental regulations such as the Clean Water Act, Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA), Endangered Species Act (ESA), and Clean Air Act (CAA). The role may also include project management, program management of large portfolios of work, and/or management of environmental personnel.

Responsibilities
• Conduct and oversee environmental planning services and related personnel.

• Prepare NEPA compliance documents and ecological surveys.

• Coordinate with federal agencies and tribal representatives.

• Navigate environmental regulations such as the Clean Water Act and Endangered Species Act.

• Lead safety efforts for the team and ensure adherence to safety rules.

• Monitor and promote quality standards and practices on projects.

• Supervise analysis and formation of recommendations in written reports.

• Provide technical direction and training to less experienced staff.

• Participate in the development of marketing strategies and client presentations.

• Serve as a Terracon Authorized Project Reviewer.

Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or related field and 10 years of related experience, or 15 years of related experience in lieu of a degree.

• Valid driver's license with acceptable violation history.

• Ability to obtain Terracon Authorized Project Reviewer status required.

Nice-to-haves
