Job Description

TERRACON is seeking a Senior Environmental Planner in Lawrenceville, GA, to lead complex projects involving environmental planning services and NEPA compliance. The role requires a strong background in ecological and cultural resource surveys, as well as familiarity with environmental regulations. Key responsibilities include project oversight, safety leadership, quality monitoring, and providing technical guidance to junior staff. A Bachelor's degree and significant experience are required.
Job Description
Our team is seeking a senior-level environmental professional to lead complex projects requiring innovative investigation techniques. As the ideal candidate, you will have a strong background in environmental planning services, including National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) compliance documents, ecological surveys, cultural resource surveys, wetland delineations, air quality evaluations, and noise screening.

About the Role
We are looking for a skilled leader who can oversee environmental planning services and related personnel. Your experience should include preparation of complex environmental and NEPA documents, coordination with lead federal agencies and associated tribal representatives/state agencies, and familiarity with navigating associated environmental regulations such as Clean Water Act, Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA), Endangered Species Act (ESA), Clean Air Act (CAA), as well as state and local regulations.

Key Responsibilities
• Develop understanding and be aware of project-related risk.
• Lead safety efforts for team and ensure team follows safety rules and guidelines.
• Responsible for continuous quality monitoring and improvement on projects.
• Responsible for providing consistent quality standards on project and proposal delivery.
• Senior level environmental professional responsible for leading complex projects requiring innovative investigation techniques.
• Supervise the analysis and formation of recommendations in written reports.
• Assist in establishing and updating current policies/procedures for technical projects in field of expertise.
• Provide technical direction and training to less experienced professional staff.

Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or related science field and 10 years related experience. Or, in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 15 years' related experience.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable violation history.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Certification in field of expertise preferred.
