About the Role - This is a full-time on-site role for a Senior Environmental Engineer in Perth, WA.
As our Senior Environmental Engineer – Emissions Management, you will spearhead Clear Carbon’s emissions-related advisory services, delivering measurable outcomes for internal and external stakeholders. You’ll lead the development and execution of cutting-edge emissions management frameworks, ensuring alignment with global standards and local Australian regulations while driving tangible reductions in carbon footprints. You will have at least 5 years of experience in GHG Emissions Accounting and Management (Recording, Reporting, and Reducing for all Scopes).
Key Responsibilities:
• Design, implement, and continuously improve emissions management frameworks, including greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory protocols, carbon accounting methodologies, and reduction strategies aligned with frameworks like the GHG Protocol, TCFD, and Australian regulations (e.g., ASRS, NGER Act).
• Lead emissions data collection, verification, and reporting processes to ensure accuracy, compliance, and transparency for Clear Carbon and its customers.
• Develop and execute emissions reduction strategies, including identifying high-impact opportunities such as energy efficiency, renewable energy adoption, and supply chain optimisation.
• Conduct emissions audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Advise on carbon reduction, offsetting, and other emissions management tools to help customers achieve their sustainability goals.
• Stay updated with the latest emissions regulations, policies, and best practices, particularly those relevant to Australia (e.g., ASRS, Safeguard Mechanism).
• Collaborate with partners, suppliers, and customers to assess and enhance their emissions management practices, identifying risks and co-developing decarbonisation roadmaps.
• Communicate emissions performance and strategies effectively to stakeholders, including preparing reports, dashboards, and presentations for executives, investors, and regulators.
• Work closely with our marketing team to raise awareness of Clear Carbon’s emissions reduction achievements and commitments through impactful storytelling.
About You

To succeed in this role, you’ll need:
• Qualifications: Tertiary degree in environmental engineering, environmental science, or a related field. Advanced certifications (e.g., GHG accounting or sustainability reporting) are highly desirable.
• Experience:
• 5+ years in emissions management, carbon accounting, or ESG roles, with a proven track record of designing and implementing emissions reduction programs.
• Deep expertise in GHG inventory development, emissions reporting (e.g., Scope 1, 2, and 3), and compliance with frameworks like NGER, CDP, or SBTi.
• Demonstrated success in leading emissions-focused projects, such as decarbonisation audits, energy transition plans, or carbon offset strategies.
• Experience with Australian emissions regulations, including the Safeguard Mechanism.
• Proven ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders (e.g., C-suite, regulators, or investors) to drive emissions-related outcomes.
• Familiarity with emissions management software tools.
• Experience in developing and managing emissions inventory systems and ensuring compliance with emissions reporting standards (e.g., GHG Protocol).
• Background in energy efficiency, renewable energy, or carbon capture technologies.
• Proven track record in implementing emissions reduction plans across diverse industries.
• Skills:
• Exceptional understanding of emissions measurement tools, software, and data analytics for carbon accounting.
• Strong knowledge of Australian emissions regulations (e.g., Safeguard Mechanism) and global standards (e.g., Paris Agreement, ISSB).
• Proficiency in conducting emissions calculations and using industry-standard software for emissions tracking and reporting.
• Familiarity with AI and machine learning tools for emissions management (e.g., for data analysis or predictive modeling).
• Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to translate complex emissions data into clear, actionable insights for diverse audiences.
• Collaborative mindset, with a knack for building partnerships across teams, suppliers, and customers.
• Resilience and autonomy, with the ability to manage complex projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong project management skills for overseeing emissions-related initiatives from inception to completion.
• Ability to interpret climate science and carbon market trends to inform strategic decisions.
