Job Description
Radin Consulting, Inc. is hiring a full-time Senior Environmental Coordinator in Newark, NJ for a billion-dollar project. Candidates should have 10+ years of environmental and heavy construction experience, with skills in permit preparation and multi-party coordination. The role requires office presence and site work in Hudson County for at least 2 years. A Bachelor's degree in a related field is required, and Covid-19 vaccination is mandatory.
Radin Consulting, Inc., a transportation planning and design firm, is looking for a full-time Senior Environmental Coordinator for a high-profile, billion-dollar project in northern NJ. The candidate should have experience related to multi-party coordination; preparation of permits; and implementation of environmental issues for construction of projects of similar scope and complexity in protected wetlands. The position will require a combination of office presence (in Newark, NJ) and mostly being on site (Hudson County) for the duration of the project. The project is long term (minimum of 2+ years). The salary range is competitive and will be based on qualifications and experience. Excellent benefits are included. Vaccination for Covid-19 is required.
Responsibilities
• The Senior Environmental Coordinator shall be the Design-Builder’s single point of contact for environmental performance, coordination, and reporting issues, as applicable.
• The Senior Environmental Coordinator shall act as the Design-Builder’s main coordinator/ liaison for environmental-related issues. The Environmental Coordinator’s duties and responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to, the following:
· Coordinate, review, and oversee the preparation of environmental plans, records, and reports.
· Monitor and control the Design-Builder’s environmental-related work activities.
· Ensure the Design-Builder’s compliance with environmental requirements.
· Participate during spot checks and environmental compliance inspections performed by the Commission’s representatives. This joint inspection process will be used to help ensure communication and timely action at the work site.
Minimum Qualifications
• The Senior Environmental Coordinator must have experience in the environmental industry, and have a minimum of ten (10) years of demonstrated, relevant heavy construction experience in dealing with environmental aspects. HAZWOPER 40-hour and 8-hour Supervisor Training required.
Minimum Bachelor's degree in Planning, Environmental Science, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
Licensing and certification requirements: (the Environmental Coordinator must possess):
• Knowledge in preparing natural resources type permits, i.e. DEP Wetlands, CAFRA, Waterfront Development, Meadowlands, Highlands), and clearances from other environmental agencies.
• Knowledge of wetland delineation, functional assessment, mitigation plans, general and technical habitat assessment (such as endangered species as related to permitting requirements for transportation projects).
• Experience in runoff models, revised FHACA rules, revised March 2, 2021, Stormwater Rules changes, Water Allocation, Soil Erosion and Sediment Control, lead and asbestos abatement, spills reporting and management, stormwater management, groundwater treatment and disposal, and Hazardous Waste management and disposal.
• New Jersey Site Remediation Program experience including compliance with the fill guidance, clean fill, fill reuse, sample plan development and implementation, remedial action permit and deed notice compliance, coordination with Licensed Site Remediation Professionals, compliance with Linear Construction Project Technical Guidance, and implementation of air monitoring programs.
• Experience dealing with National Environmental Policy Act Compliance. This includes Categorical Exclusion Documentation, Environmental Assessments/FONSI, or Environmental Impact Statements.
• Knowledge of Air and Noise Quality, Ecology, Permits, Socioeconomics and Land Use, Contamination Screenings, Cultural Resources, and Section 4(f).
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $72.00 - $90.00 per hour
