Overview
Are you ready to embark on a career that makes a difference? Geosyntec is looking for a Senior Environmental Consultant to enhance our environmental assessment and regulatory compliance services. This position is based in our Charleston, SC office, with the flexibility to work remotely within South Carolina. We seek an experienced environmental consultant to help us grow our environmental management practice. You will lead client development, direct project teams, and nurture the growth of our professional staff alongside our senior practitioners.

This role will support environmental assessments and regulatory compliance on complex civil and environmental projects nationwide. It's ideal for someone eager to lead innovative projects that span financial and technical evaluations, design, permitting, and construction stages of environmental initiatives.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

You may also take on project management duties, staff management, and mentoring.

Support clients in complying with environmental regulations and standards.Design and implement environmental compliance programs and provide guidance on regulatory requirements to minimize risks.Develop multimedia permit applications, negotiate conditions, and craft strategies to meet those conditions.Manage projects, including planning and implementation of investigation and remediation efforts, adhering to budget and schedule while ensuring quality and client satisfaction.Assist clients with environmental considerations related to transactions, reporting, litigation, and other crucial business decisions.Oversee technical issues and work products, ensuring adherence to health and safety protocols.Recruit, manage, and mentor junior staff and mid-career engineers and scientists.Review and lead preparations of technical documents, drawings, specifications, and proposals.Participate in meetings with clients, regulatory personnel, and other stakeholders.Fieldwork may be required, including contractor oversight and troubleshooting.Travel to client or company project sites as needed.Education and Licensure
Bachelor's degree in civil, chemical, or environmental engineering, geology, or a related field is required. An advanced degree is preferred, along with professional registration (P.Eng.) if available.

Skills, Experience And Qualifications
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

A minimum of 8 years of progressive consulting experience or equivalent education and experience.A proven track record of delivering consulting services specifically within the South Carolina market.Strong knowledge of local regulations.Experience in managing multi-disciplinary project teams.A history of developing and managing client relationships and growing a professional staff.Excellent leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to navigate a fast-paced consulting environment with multiple projects and tight deadlines.Strong oral and technical writing skills.The capacity for regular fieldwork and occasional overnight travel.Current health and safety training, medical monitoring, and adherence to client-driven drug and background testing.A valid U.S. driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
