SUMMARY

We are seeking a Senior Environmental Consultant to cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients through effective sales, project management, and team leadership. This role is vital in ensuring that air quality and multimedia projects are delivered with precision, on schedule, and within budget, while also fostering a high-quality work environment for our teams.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Ensure the technical accuracy and high quality of all project-related work through thorough oversight.
• Guide team members to facilitate efficient progress and timely project completion within the budget parameters.
• Coordinate project team efforts for timely completion, invoicing accuracy, and adherence to budget constraints.
• Build and maintain business development relationships through proactive sales calls and professional networking.
• Enhance client engagement by being responsive to their needs and empowering staff to seek business opportunities.
• Craft compelling sales proposals for both existing and prospective clients.
• Identify and pursue new marketing opportunities, assisting business development staff with the creation and follow-up of communication materials.
• Represent the company at conferences, prepare regulatory updates, and facilitate luncheon seminars.
• Communicate management’s goals and decisions to staff to align team objectives with company aspirations.
• Optimize utilization and billing processes for consulting staff effectively.
• Continuously evaluate and monitor employee performance against established goals and standards.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This role involves direct supervision of 1-3 employees in Environmental Consulting. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, delegating work, assessing performance, rewarding, and resolving employee issues in alignment with organizational policies.

QUALIFICATIONS

Successful candidates will possess a Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Chemical, Mechanical, Environmental/Civil Engineering, or related fields such as Atmospheric/Environmental Science from an accredited institution. A minimum of two to four years of related experience or equivalent education and experience is required. Knowledge of regulatory and technical requirements pertaining to permit applicability, emission inventories, air dispersion modeling, and federal/state permitting is essential. Experience with multimedia permitting (waste and water) is preferred.

Proficiency in computer applications including Microsoft Office Suite is required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business-related articles, professional journals, technical documents, and government regulations. Strong writing skills for reports, correspondence, and procedural manuals are necessary, alongside the ability to effectively present information and respond to inquiries from diverse groups.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Demonstrated ability to work with mathematical concepts, including probability, statistics, geometry, and trigonometry. Proficient in applying concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions in practical scenarios.

REASONING ABILITY

Capable of solving practical problems and addressing a range of variables in situations with limited standardization, while effectively interpreting various forms of instructions.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This position requires the ability to sit, use hands, talk, and hear regularly. Occasionally, employees may stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. Prolonged periods working at a computer are expected, with the ability to lift or move up to 10 pounds regularly.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, employees may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, high places, fumes or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in this work environment is typically moderate.
