The Senior Emergency & Disaster Management Officer sits within the Business and Corporate Partnership (BCP) Division in the Department of Natural Resources and Mines, Manufacturing and Regional and Rural Development. This role focuses on managing and supporting the department’s emergency management arrangements and operational response as well as providing high level support in the delivery of training design and exercising.

About The Role
In this role you will:
• Coordinate the department's disaster and emergency response which includes supporting the departments representation at various whole-of-government disaster management groups including representing the department at the State Disaster Coordination Centre.
• Coordinate the management of departmental emergency and disaster management plans ensuring that plans and frameworks are reviewed, updated and tested.
• Engage and facilitate post event analysis, debriefs and lessons learned for the region, including the ongoing development of continuous improvement strategies; maintaining knowledge of current legislation and guidelines; and resolving gaps in operational capacity and/or capability.
• Incorporate risk management principles and practices in the delivery of disaster management planning, review and assessments including the delivery of training.
• Other duties as directed and required.
