The Opportunity:

We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Automation & Integration Developer to join our Global Automation and Integration team, as part of our broader IT Platforms Infrastructure team. This role is located in our Brisbane Ann Street office on a full-time, permanent basis.

In this role you will develop and maintain new and existing applications for the Ashurst business. You will provide programming and systems analysis skills to a range of IT projects based around commercial systems, third-party products, and in-house developed applications.

Operating within an agile scrum team, you will move flexibly within the development team with exposure to a variety of systems and technologies; from .Net MVC, SQL Business Intelligence, and Azure through to industry-leading workflow and content management products such as SharePoint and Sitecore.

Main responsibilities:
• Within an Agile delivery team, collaborate with members of IT, Ashurst Advance Digital and wider business service functions to deliver client-facing products and experiences to deliver legal advice and drive engagement.
• Lead the development and implementation of new and existing API integrations, microservices and accompanying software, working with cloud technologies on the Azure platform.
• Contribute to the design and architecture of software, prototyping and iterating new APIs, related data sources and integrations.
• Participate in development workstreams, providing end to end ownership including; input into specification and design, estimation and planning, build, release and support.
• Provide 3rd line support to the applications developed and upgrading existing software as the organisation's needs change.

We are interested in hearing from people who have:
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and experience in streamlining deployments with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) using tools such as Azure DevOps, Unicorn, TeamCity, and Octopus Deploy.
• Strong experience in developing and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Proficiency in using middleware and integration technologies such as Boomi to ensure seamless integration and automation across various systems and platforms.
• Specific experience with Automation Anywhere for robotic process automation (RPA) and Boomi for integration platform as a service (iPaaS) solutions.
• A tertiary qualification in a software development subject or the ability to demonstrate equivalent commercial experience.
• Effective team-working, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to maintain and build working relationships with colleagues and clients.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think efficiently and creatively.

Technical capabilities:
• Experience with SOAP/XML webservice integrations.
• Understanding of Test Driven Development principles.
• Understands object oriented programming principles, preferably with experience in Java and/or Groovy.
• Knowledge/experience with MS SQL, especially an ability to work with SSIS - this will be a key focus for the next couple of years.
