Position Summary:
This position is based in Arlington, VA. The Senior Coordinator will support the Climate Strategy team and cross-organizational efforts to advance CI's climate change initiatives. Key responsibilities include supporting climate events, managing partnerships, implementing internal processes for strategy monitoring, and supporting jurisdictional REDD+ strategies. The role reports to the Managing Director, Climate Change Strategy. This position does not manage staff and works under general supervision.
Responsibilities:
• Strategic Climate Events & Campaigns: Support planning and logistics for global climate events, develop strategic objectives, and manage stakeholder communications.
• Climate Strategy: Assist in implementing and socializing CI’s climate strategy, coordinate meetings, and track progress.
• Jurisdictional REDD+ (JREDD+): Support communications, monitoring, and cross-divisional coordination for REDD+ initiatives.
Working Conditions:
Hybrid environment, 10 days/month in the office, with occasional travel.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields (preferred).
• 2-4 years of experience, including internships.
• Proficiency in database operations, SharePoint, MS Office.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and in diverse teams.
Preferred: Knowledge of climate change and REDD+ processes, language skills.
