Our client is a forward-thinking design firm renowned for its commitment to sustainable urban development and innovative architectural solutions. We are seeking a highly skilled and creative Senior Architectural Designer to join our fully remote team. This role is pivotal in conceptualizing and developing designs for cutting-edge projects that prioritize environmental responsibility and community integration. You will be instrumental in translating client visions and project requirements into compelling architectural designs, from schematic design through to detailed documentation. The ideal candidate possesses a strong portfolio showcasing expertise in sustainable design principles, a mastery of architectural software, and a passion for creating aesthetically pleasing and functional spaces. This is a remote-first position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere within the US. You will collaborate closely with a distributed team of architects, urban planners, and consultants, leveraging virtual collaboration tools to maintain seamless communication and project momentum. Experience with large-scale mixed-use developments, green building certifications (e.g., LEED), and advanced rendering techniques is highly desirable. You will be expected to lead design charrettes, present concepts to stakeholders, and contribute to the overall design direction of projects.
Key Responsibilities: Lead the design process for complex architectural projects, focusing on sustainable and innovative solutions. Develop architectural concepts, design narratives, and visual presentations. Produce high-quality design documentation, including drawings, models, and specifications, using advanced software. Collaborate effectively with project teams, consultants, and clients in a remote setting. Research and integrate sustainable design strategies and materials into projects. Conduct design reviews and provide constructive feedback to junior designers. Ensure designs meet client objectives, regulatory requirements, and aesthetic goals. Stay current with architectural trends, technologies, and best practices in sustainable design. Participate in client meetings and presentations, effectively communicating design ideas. Contribute to project proposals and business development efforts. Qualifications: Master's degree in Architecture. 7+ years of progressive experience in architectural design, with a focus on sustainable development. Registered Architect (RA) or NCARB certification preferred. Proficiency in architectural design software (e.g., Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Rhino) and rendering tools (e.g., V-Ray, Lumion). Demonstrated expertise in sustainable design principles and LEED accreditation. Strong portfolio showcasing innovative and award-winning designs. Excellent conceptual thinking, creative problem-solving, and communication skills. Experience managing design phases and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams. Proven ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a remote, distributed team environment. Passion for urban planning and creating impactful built environments. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of sustainable architecture from the comfort of your home office.
