Argus Media - Consulting Services works with a wide variety of clients including governments, national oil and energy companies, multi-nationals, the finance sector, energy traders, upstream, mid and downstream independents. The team is comprised of two main business areas, projects and subscriptions. The projects side undertakes bespoke commission assignments, while subscriptions produce short term outlooks, long term analytical reports and forecasts.

What we're looking for

Due to the continued growth of the business, we are currently looking for a passionate, driven and energetic Senior Analyst to join our Biofuels Subscriptions team.

The ideal candidate will be an excellent analyst and will thrive in a fast- paced environment. They will also be process oriented and have a keen eye for detail. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to build a career in consulting.

You will provide clients with the in-depth analysis, insight and perspectives in the global biofuels markets, contributing to our services that provide short and long-term forecasts for demand, supply and prices. You will play a key role in building the business through development of propositions, products and services. Our team, spread across London, Houston and Mumbai is made up of mix of industry experts and strong analysts from diverse and international backgrounds. What will you be doing
• Contribute to the broader analysis and lead components of our coverage of biofuels and bio feedstocks topics to provide input to Argus off-the-shelf biofuels analytical subscriptions. This should include recurring and one-off sections of the Argus Biofuels Outlook and Argus Biofuels Analytics reports, primarily.
• Coordinate the production process and act as project manager for the Argus Biofuels Outlook and working with different contributors to ensure it is produced to time and quality.
• Support analysis and the development of data sets and models to support short and long-term forecasting of supply, demand, capacity, imports and exports, price and production costs for key biofuels and renewable fuels and feedstocks
• Consolidate the knowledge on global regulation impacting biofuels markets, and translating any developments into summarised analytical pieces feeding into different reports.
• Contribute as a subject matter expert to sales, marketing and business development initiatives
• Liaise with Argus staff to ensure current knowledge of Argus products and maintain current knowledge of major drivers and trends across commodity markets
• Work with commodity analysts around the globe to extract maximum value out of data collected across the organisation and to deliver integrated analysis
• Identify new sources of data to capture within the Argus fundamentals databases

What we're looking for in you
• 3 years plus of relevant experience in the biofuels / renewable energy industry, most likely gained in either:
• Consulting
• Analytical role for a major energy company or energy research organisation
• Energy analyst role in a financial services organisation
• Educated to Master's degree from a top tier university
• Highly numerate with experience analysing data quickly and meticulously with excellent attention to detail and accuracy focus
• Intellectually curious and able to demonstrate structured problem solving and analytical skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong IT skills including Excel and PowerPoint - other coding/programming languages are a plus.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks to deadline and to meet targets
• Flexible in approach, highly motivated and willing to contribute to the team growth

The training and support provided throughout the probation period requires full office attendance. Following successful completion of probation, hybrid working is available in accordance with the company policy as amended from time to time, which currently requires 3 days per week attendance.
