Senior Advisor – Green Growth Strategy

DT Global is hiring a Senior Advisor – Green Growth Strategy for its Prospera program in Jakarta, Indonesia. The role involves supporting climate and energy initiatives, advising policymakers, and contributing to national green growth strategies. The advisor will work with the Climate and Energy team and government partners to align development goals with climate commitments. This position requires expertise in green growth strategy and policy-based research.

Program Background

Prospera is a A$259 million eight-year program building on two decades of Australia’s support for economic governance in Indonesia. Prospera incorporates 15 Australian Government agencies and over 200 expert advisers and program staff from diverse backgrounds. Prospera also collaborates closely with the Katalis program to realise the benefits of the Indonesia-Australia Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement.

The Role

Prospera is seeking to engage a Senior Advisor with expertise in green growth strategy, climate change and policy-based research. This position will be part of the Technical Support Team that is set to support the Office of the Special Envoy for Climate and Energy through the Indonesia Climate and Growth Dialogue (ICGD) and the relevant government of Indonesia counterparts in advancing climate and energy issues.

The Senior Advisor – Green Growth Strategy will bring cross-sectoral insight, the ability to connect dots across policy domains, and the credibility to advise senior policymakers and partners. The successful candidate will contribute to flagship policy and strategy deliverables, help shape national green growth pathways, and ensure coherence between Indonesia’s development goals, climate commitments, and implementation mechanisms.

This role will work closely with Prospera’s Climate and Energy team and the Interim Indonesia Climate and Growth Dialogue (ICGD) Secretariat to provide strategic advisory support on cross-sector green growth pathways and economic transformation and develop policy papers and recommendations in Green Growth. The role will also require close collaboration with Office of the Special Envoy for Climate and Energy, ICGD board members, and Prospera as well as ongoing reporting to track progress and achieve the desired outcomes.

About You

This role requires an experienced and systems-oriented professional with a strong track record in policy advisory, economic development strategy, and institutional coordination. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of Indonesia’s green growth challenges and opportunities—spanning sustainable finance, green industrialization, energy transition, nature-positive solutions, and just transition considerations.

The successful candidate shall be able to demonstrate the following skills, experience, and qualifications:
• Education & Experience: Master’s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field and/or 10+ years of professional experience in related fields. Expertise in at least one of the following areas is required: green industry, green economy, sustainable finance, AFOLU (Agriculture, Forestry, and Other Land Use), or climate policy.
• Policy & Market Knowledge: Strong understanding of Indonesia’s green growth trend
• Analytical Skills: Strong ability to collect, validate (triangulate), and analyse quantitative data.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Proven experience working with government agencies, private sector entities (industrial players and financial institutions)
• Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience in writing reports, policy briefs, and presentations. Strong interpersonal skills. Fluency in both English and Bahasa Indonesia is required.

Remuneration
The remuneration will be set according to National Remuneration Framework Group C, Job Level 3. The remuneration level at which the position is engaged will be based on the successful candidates’ relevant skills and experience and will be subject to Indonesian employment regulations and tax obligations. This position is a short-term position, open for National Indonesian applicants.
