Wildlife/Business Office Under general supervision and at the full-performance level, the employee will provide administrative and clerical support in the areas of Operations, Federal Aid, Personnel, and Education and Outreach within the DNR Wildlife Resources Section's business unit under the direct supervision of the Wildlife Resources Section Business Manager.
Employee will be responsible for administering and implementing Business Unit related functions such as generating correspondence, document retention, temporary labor reports, and financial documents; scheduling appointments, making travel arrangements and processing employee travel expense accounts; proofreading and editing reports, news releases and other correspondence; preparing confidential and other correspondence, reports, documents and forms for Business Manager’s and Federal Aid Coordinator’s approval and signature; communicating regularly with the public and agency staff on a wide variety of work related issues; developing, processing and analyzing forms, reports, and documents for accuracy and initiating correction of errors as needed; maintaining, processing, sorting and filing of documents; preparing and processing a variety of personnel information and payroll documentation; answering telephones, screening calls, taking messages and complaints; providing information to the caller regarding services and programs of the Wildlife Resources Section and assisting callers with the Electronic Licensing System; operating office equipment as needed to perform the tasks of the position; preparing agency delivery orders (ADOs), assist with planning of professional meetings and in-service trainings, and ordering merchandise and office supplies as a Purchasing Card holder.
An advanced knowledge of Google and Microsoft software is critical for successfully completing these tasks. Duties related to this task will involve consulting with other DNR sections, state agency staff, and federal staff to ensure compliance with state and federal rules and policies. The employee must possess a valid driver’s license. The employee will be required to attend agency and professional meetings, in-service trainings, and other activities that may require infrequent overnight travel. The employee will perform other duties as assigned. Regular attendance is required.

Training: Graduation from a standard high school or the equivalent.
Experience: Five years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience performing clerical duties at the Office Assistant 3 level, encompassing a wide range of office practices, which must have in included typing, screening and routing telephone calls and correspondence, and composing routine correspondence.Substitution: College hours or related business school or vocational training may be substituted through an established formula for up to two years of the required experience.
