Pace® Analytical Services is hiring a Scientist for Animal Health R&D in Greenfield, IN. The role involves designing and executing experiments for product development, managing laboratory projects, and collaborating with senior scientists. Candidates should have a B.S. in a relevant field and experience in laboratory work. Key skills include problem-solving, attention to detail, and effective communication. The position is full-time and requires safe laboratory practices.
Overview
The Scientist - Animal Health R&D is responsible for scientific support of early and late phase formulation and process development.

Responsibilities
• Design, execute, analyze, and evaluate experiments that meet the R&D product development business objectives using scale-down models of manufacturing scale processes
• Ensure all experiments are well designed and documented with clear objectives
• Technically manage small scale laboratory projects as required
• Identify process improvement opportunities through data collection, mining, observation and technical report writing in collaboration with senior scientists and technicians.
• Monitor and interpret drug product study results.
• Utilize safe laboratory practices, and encourage safe behaviors by coworkers
• Accurately document work in appropriate batch records and/or electronic laboratory notebooks
• Write and present technical summaries in reports and at department technical meetings and reviews
• Collaborate technically as required with scientist in supported manufacturing areas sharing key learning

Minimum Qualification (education, experience and/or training, required certifications):
• B.S. in an applicable academic discipline (Pharmaceutics, etc) and applicable laboratory work experience
• Previous experience in a work environment demonstrating behaviors such as conscientiousness, pride in accomplishment, ownership, self-direction
• Technically inquisitive, attentive to detail and must exhibit good problem solving skills.
• Have good mechanical aptitude.
• Have a high learning agility.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in an integrated team environment, but also be able to work independently, multitask, and be able to prioritize activities.
• Demonstrated strong communication skills, both oral and written
• Demonstrated problem solving abilities

Additional Preferences:
• Prior experience and knowledge of development of drug products including extrusion, granulation, tablet compression.
• The candidate should exhibit flexibility and the ability to positively work with others.
• The candidate should be acquainted with basic statistics and be proficient with the use of Microsoft software products
• Previous statistical background e.g. experimental data analysis and interpretation
• Success mindedness with a desire to develop scientifically
Other Information:
• There may be intermittent exposure to high levels of background noise.
• The candidate may come into contact with large equipment and/or mechanical hazards.
