Job Description

Climate17 is seeking a Sales Engineer for Solar and Energy Storage in Honolulu, HI. The role involves generating leads, conducting sales presentations, providing technical support, and managing project pipelines in the renewable energy sector. Candidates should have an engineering degree, sales experience, and knowledge of solar and battery technologies. The position offers career progression within a passionate team focused on clean energy solutions for Hawaii.
Climate17 are working closely with a Hawaii based direct current technology innovator and a microgrid developer supported by a large international investor. The business develops and finances microgrids with photovoltaic, battery energy storage, hybrid DC appliances and customized energy management systems to transform energy delivery.

As a team, they are passionate about renewable energy and the opportunity to continue developing clean energy for Hawaii. They are currently seeking a talented and motivated Sales Engineer to join them in driving clean, renewable energy.

With career progression, an entrepreneurial culture, and exciting technology, this role would suit a person who has an engineering background and sales background with working experience and understanding of battery energy storage software or solar energy.
Responsibilities
• Sources and develops self-generated leads and appointments with potential customers
• Conducts sales presentations for potential customers
• Evaluates customers’ knowledge and needs, providing technical support to contractors, clients, and other stakeholders
• Manage the pipeline of project activity from prospect to installation
• Meets minimum required sales targets as set by sales leadership
• Analyze and determine the most efficient and cost-effective approach for projects
• Conduct site visits to assess performance of products and identify opportunities for improvement
• Assist the company’s engineers with installation, commissioning, and testing, as needed
• Assist with preparing specification, drawings, and calculations for projects
• Maintains current knowledge of latest developments by attending sales meetings, events, training, and industry events
Qualifications
• 4 Year Engineering Degree (Required), Mechanical/Electrical (Preferred)
• Working knowledge of Solar, HVAC, Battery, or other renewable energy technologies
• Driver’s license
• Travel to construction sites
• Professional Engineer (PE) certification (Preferred)
• Familiarity in AutoCAD and commercial construction (Preferred)
• MBA or business training (Preferred)
• Customer service: 3 Years
• Sales Experience: 3 Years
