Peak Demand is seeking a Sales Development Representative (SDR) for its Energy Forecasting SaaS solutions in Independence, KS. The role focuses on lead generation and business development within the renewable energy sector, engaging with stakeholders like IPPs and utilities. Ideal candidates should have SaaS sales experience, particularly in solar markets, and be willing to travel. The position offers a salary range of $70k-$90k.

With a mission to modernize the energy ecosystem, the company equips Independent Power Producers, energy retailers, and utilities with AI-driven tools that enhance performance and improve forecasting accuracy.
The Sales Development Representative will be instrumental in accelerating the adoption of the company’s forecasting platform and other emerging SaaS products. This is a high-impact, outbound sales role focused on lead generation, new business development, and customer engagement across the distributed solar and broader energy markets. You will work closely with marketing, product, and leadership teams to shape go-to-market efforts and scale commercial success.
What You’ll Do
• Identify and qualify new business opportunities for the company’s forecasting platform
• Prospect energy stakeholders, including IPPs, utilities, grid operators, and retailers
• Support cross-selling and upselling of SaaS solutions across customer segments
• Engage directly with C-level executives to communicate product value and differentiation
• Collaborate with marketing to develop materials for distributors, agents, and customers
• Represent the company at international trade shows and industry events
• Help refine sales strategy through customer feedback and market insights
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
• Familiarity with SaaS sales, particularly in solar and distributed energy markets
• Experience selling AI/ML products and/or to Commercial Solar Developers, EPCs, and asset owners (a plus)
• Understanding of evolving energy markets and customer challenges (a plus)
• Relationship-driven, team-oriented approach grounded in trust and collaboration
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced startup environment
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally
Salary Range: 70k-90k
