R&I Insulation Sustainability Intern

Carlisle Construction Materials (CCM) is seeking a 2025 R&I Insulation Sustainability Intern in Carlisle, PA. The intern will develop sustainable polyisocyanurate insulation panels, applying STEM knowledge to real-world challenges. Responsibilities include formulating insulation panels, conducting tests, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. Candidates should be enrolled in a relevant Bachelor's program, preferably in sustainability, with a minimum GPA of 3.0, and possess strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Position Overview:

Join our team as a 2025 R&I Insulation Sustainability Intern, where you'll engage in the development of sustainable polyisocyanurate insulation panels. This role offers a hands-on experience in applying your academic knowledge in STEM to real-world sustainability challenges, contributing to innovative advancements in building materials.

Key Responsibilities:
• Formulate and test insulation panels using sustainable polyols.
• Conduct bench-scale chemistry and pilot-scale production.
• Perform statistical analyses and physical property tests.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and present findings.

Requirements:

Qualifications:
• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Materials Science, Polymer Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field, with a focus on sustainability preferred.
• Junior or senior academic standing with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
