Description:Duties:
Shift: Day

Hours: approx. 8am-5pm

Overall job description:
Provide technical assistance to laboratory scientists for the precise execution of experiments and research studies. Operate laboratory tools and equipment, process data for experiments, collect samples for studies, record observations, analyze experimental results, help manage inventories and stock supplies, and create study reports for further examination by team/management

Research Technician key duties:
• Support the development, validation and execution of analytical assays based on a variety of biological techniques including but not limited to DNA/RNA isolation, PCR, qPCR, ELISA, Flow cytometry, Western blots
• Processing of biological matrices including but not limited to: plasma, serum, tissue, PBMC isolation
• Support the establishment, characterization, maintenance, banking, expansion and freezing of cell lines
• Assist in the printing of compounds using specialized dispensing equipment
• Transportation of samples between Boehringer sites as needed. Coordinate and organize shipment of reagents/samples within the US and outside the US as needed
• Support of animal experiments by provision of the conceptual test article and subsequent analysis of animal samples resulting from animal experiments
• Documentation and execution of experiments is in compliance with internal procedures and guidance
• Ensure lab space and equipment is functional and well maintained
• Prepare reports on laboratory activities as required by management
• Inventory and consumables are managed in an efficient and cost-effective way
• Adherence to all applicable Legal, Environmental, Health and Safety regulations for handling and disposing of reagents/samples
• Keep abreast of new developments in the field of research and incorporate them into the lab's operations as appropriate

Skills:
• Ability to execute experiments with precision, analyze data and maintain accurate records
• Ability to work independently while also being effective in a multi-disciplinary environment
Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills

Education:
• Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences (biology, microbiology, genetics, immunology etc). Master’s Degree preferred
• > 3 years hands-on experience in a research laboratory, conducting hands-on cell culture, biological assays including but not limited to DNA/RNA isolation, PCR, qPCR, ELISA. Flow cytometry and cell sorting experience is a plus
