Job Description

The Water Research Center at NYU Abu Dhabi is seeking a highly motivated Research Scientist to conduct advanced studies on the selective recovery of precious metals from seawater and hypersaline brines.

Research at the WRC focuses on developing next-generation water and environmental technologies. Our projects involve collaborations with faculty at NYUAD, and industrial partners. State-of-the-art facilities at NYUAD include advanced membrane fabrication labs, analytical chemistry instruments, and seawater testing capabilities.

Responsibilities Of The Position Include
• Designing and synthesizing novel separation materials.
• Performing laboratory and benchscale experiments.
• Characterizing material properties.
• Analyzing separation performance.
• Developing SOPs and RAs.
• Mentoring students.
• Preparing scientific manuscripts.
• Contributing to patent applications and funding proposals.
Candidates must hold a Ph.
D. in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field. A minimum of 6 years of postdoctoral or equivalent research experience is preferred. The ideal candidate will have a strong publication record, excellent laboratory skills, and experience working with high-salinity feedwaters.
