Research Scientist - Hydrology Expert

Job Summary:

The Postdoctoral Fellow position at The University of Alabama is available to individuals with research interests and expertise in modeling and data analyses of hydrologic processes. This role involves conducting research in the general area of hydrology under the supervision of Dr. Mukesh Kumar.

Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct research in hydrology, including evaluation and development of next-generation (eco)hydrologic models
• Produce novel scientific insights regarding hydrologic responses and their controls during climate extremes
• Collaborate with the supervising faculty member and other researchers on projects related to hydrology

Required Qualifications:
• Ph.D. or other terminal degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, hydrology, ecology, geosciences, computer science, applied mathematics, data analytics, or related fields
• Strong background in numerical modeling and/or data analytics with big data
• Experience with machine learning applications
