Research Librarian

The role

Our Legal Operations group is known for its collaborative and supportive culture and is a trusted and valued team within Norton Rose Fulbright. As a Research Librarian, you will provide high quality, friendly and proactive library and research support to fee-earner and business services teams. This role is primarily an on-site position and the hours will operate between 8.30 am and 5.00 pm and can be based in any of our Australian offices.

Reporting to the Head of Library and Information Services, the key responsibilities and requirements for this role are as follows:

Responsibilities
• Provide advanced research and high-quality information support to legal professionals.
• Build awareness of industry trends and technological advancements to enhance the user experience and research outcomes.
• Deliver tailored current awareness solutions.
• Manage and cultivate client relationships with internal stakeholders across all teams promoting a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.
• Advise on library budget expenditure, ensuring cost-effective utilisation of resources.
• Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and deliver tailored informational support to enhance their knowledge and operational efficiency.

Requirements
• A minimum of 2 years Librarian experience gained within a Law firm or professional services firm.
• Strong awareness and application of technology in the delivery of Library services.
• A commitment to innovation and continuous improvement.
• Proven knowledge of legal and business research strategy and techniques.
• Demonstrated understanding of the importance of client service and relationship management.
• Tertiary qualifications in library or knowledge management
