The U.S. Department of Agriculture is hiring a Research Hydrologist in Washington, DC. The U.S. Department of Agriculture is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Research Hydrologist to join our team. In this position, you will be responsible for conducting hydrologic research related to agricultural and environmental conservation. You will be a key member of the research team and will help create and support our mission of protecting the environment and promoting sustainable agricultural practices. To be successful in this role, you must have a bachelor’s degree in hydrology or a related field and at least 5 years of relevant experience. You must also possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills and be able to think critically to develop solutions to complex hydrologic challenges. Additionally, you should have experience working with GIS software, a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Responsibilities:
Conduct hydrologic research related to agricultural and environmental conservation.
Develop solutions to complex hydrologic challenges.
Utilize GIS software to analyze hydrologic data.
Utilize Microsoft Office Suite to create data-driven visuals.
Stay informed of current advancements in hydrology and apply them to research.
Prepare and present research findings to colleagues and other stakeholders.
Collaborate with a team of research hydrologists to ensure successful completion of research projects.
Provide technical advice and guidance to other team members.
Work with stakeholders to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
Develop research plans and budgets for new projects.
