Research Fellow, Climate Sciences

The National University of Singapore is seeking a Research Fellow in Climate Sciences. The role involves numerical modeling of weather and climate, data assimilation, seasonal forecasting, and using supercomputing platforms. Candidates should have a PhD in Climate/Atmospheric Sciences, experience with the WRF model, and proficiency in programming languages like Python. This is a full-time position based in Singapore with a salary range of SGD 6K–SGD 7K per month.

Job Description
• Working on numerical modelling of weather and climate using high resolution climate models. – regional and urban
• Parameterization/Optimization of the climate models
• Data Assimilation, Radar Nowcasting
• Seasonal to Sub-Seasonal forecasting
• Working on Supercomputing platforms/Linux platforms for Numerical Weather Prediction and Climate Modelling
• Data processing and data analyses
• Data visualization
• Publishing research in peer reviewed journals
• Presentation of research in workshops/conferences

Qualifications
• A PhD in Climate/Atmospheric Sciences
• Good knowledge of tropical meteorology and atmospheric dynamics
• Experience in Numerical modelling with the WRF model
• Experience in handling supercomputing platforms
• Knowledge of Unix systems
• Expertise in programming languages such as NCL, GrADS, Python
• Expertise in shell scripting
