The School of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology (CCEB) invites applications for the position of Research Engineer I in Prof Yin’s lab. The Research Engineer I will play a key role in a research project on machine learning modeling and optimization of vertical farms.
Key Responsibilities:
• Development of new machine learning modelling approaches
• Development of new advanced control and optimization algorithms
• Optimization of indoor farms
• Provide regular project updates to principal investigator and funding agency
• Report writing and presentationJob Requirements:
• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in an engineering field relevant to the project
• Experience in system dynamic modelling
• Knowledge of chemical engineering principles
• Proficiency in implementing machine learning models using Python
• Understanding of optimization techniques
• Basic knowledge of carbon capture, utilisation, and storage (preferred)
• Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a diverse range of individuals and professional groups
