The Power Grid Research Engineer will focus on the exciting task of designing and optimizing distribution networks utilizing G&W Electric's groundbreaking technology. This role offers the opportunity to work at the forefront of the energy sector, where your expertise will contribute to enhancing power quality, grid resilience, and renewable energy integration.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:
• Distribution Network Design and Planning: Collaborate with our specialist team to design and plan state-of-the-art distribution networks, utilizing G&W Electric's advanced equipment to enhance reliability.
• System Modeling and Analysis: Employ advanced software for power system analysis to model and simulate networks, identify potential improvements, and ensure optimal operations.
• Renewable Energy Integration: Investigate how to effectively incorporate renewable energy sources within our networks, devising strategies for distributed generation and storage systems.
• Grid Resilience and Power Quality: Implement strategies using G&W Electric's solutions to bolster grid resilience, ensuring minimal downtime and stable operations.
• Smart Grid Solutions: Stay current with smart grid technologies and propose innovative approaches to enhance grid operations and energy management.
• Research Collaboration: Work with our research team on cutting-edge solutions addressing challenges in power distribution networks.
• Compliance Knowledge: Keep updated on industry regulations and apply standards in designing and operating distribution systems.
• Project Management: Lead distribution network projects, collaborating with stakeholders to ensure success within timelines and budgets.
• Technical Support: Offer technical assistance to operations teams during outages, showcasing strong problem-solving capabilities.
• Continuous Learning: Stay abreast of new developments in power distribution engineering and participate in training to enhance your skills.
• Protection Studies: Conduct protection studies to ensure safe and reliable network operations while minimizing downtime during faults.

What We Are Looking For:
• A Master's or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in power system engineering, particularly in distribution networks.
• Strong understanding of distribution system design and protection principles.
• Proficiency with power system analysis tools like PSS/E, ETAP, or DigSILENT.
• Knowledge of smart grid technologies, renewable energy integration, and energy storage solutions.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Great communication and teamwork abilities.
• Project management experience is a plus.
• A passion for sustainability and advancing clean energy initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with data analytics tools such as Pandas or R.
• Familiarity with data analysis techniques like time series analysis.
• Skills in data visualization tools to effectively communicate insights.

Physical Demands / Work Conditions:
• General office environment with PC use.
• Light lifting (occasional up to 25 lbs).

You will receive a competitive salary, typically ranging from $83,948 to $109,163 annually, based on your skills and experience.
