Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Research Associate to support ongoing research projects focused on energy transition and decarbonization in Southeast Asia (SEA). The role involves contributing to policy-oriented research, conducting qualitative data analysis, and supporting stakeholder engagement activities. The successful candidate will work closely with a multidisciplinary research team to examine the governance of low-carbon technologies, explore policy pathways, and support interviews with policymakers and other key stakeholders in the region.

Job Requirements

• Master’s degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Environmental Studies, Energy Studies, or a related field.

• Demonstrated knowledge of energy transition and decarbonisation challenges in Southeast Asia.

• Strong qualitative research skills, including experience with interview design, data collection, and thematic analysis.

• Familiarity with path dependency theory and its application to policy studies.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to engage with policymakers and stakeholders.

• Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Prior experience in academic or policy research is a plus.
