Energy Studies Institute

The Energy Studies Institute (ESI) at the National University of Singapore conducts independent research and analysis to advance the understanding of energy policy issues. We are seeking researchers to join a multi-disciplinary team carrying out research projects on a range of energy issues relevant to Singapore and the region.
Job Description
• Conduct technical and policy reviews of the global energy landscape through desktop research.
• Assess the carbon footprint and environmental impacts of alternative fuels, renewable energy technologies, and energy supply chains using qualitative and quantitative analysis.
• Participate in engagements with stakeholders.
• Produce policy reports, documentation, and publish articles in reputable academic journals.
• Perform administrative duties, including organising seminars, workshops, and conferences, and undertake other responsibilities as assigned by the Head of Division or Principal Investigator.
Requirements
• A Master's degree in engineering, energy systems modelling, sustainability, or other related disciplines.
• Strong understanding of and interest in energy and environmental issues, particularly renewable technologies, decarbonisation strategies, and energy security.
• Relevant research experience in Life Cycle Assessment would be highly preferred.
• Experience in techno-economic analysis and energy systems modelling would be an advantage.
• Strong interpersonal, organisational, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
