The School of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology (CCEB) invites applications for the position of Research Assistant in Prof. CHEN Lin’s team. The Research Assistant will take on a significant role in the development and application of innovative bacteriophage-based strategies to combat multi-drug resistant (MDR) pathogen infections. Depending on the applicant's interests, the research will focus on either the molecular engineering of bacteriophages to enhance antimicrobial efficacy and expand host range, or on the development of phage-based delivery materials and antimicrobial coatings. This position offers opportunities for collaborative research, scientific publication, and professional development. Key Responsibilities: Conduct an independent research project and collaborate with other researchers. Maintain a log of lab materials and ensure safety and data management protocols are followed. Present research findings at lab meetings and national/international conferences. Manage the research budget, including lab supplies, equipment, and personnel expenditures. Contribute to high-impact research publications, with a target of at least one paper in a top-tier journal. Generate, analyse, and interpret extensive experimental data, contributing to advancements in antimicrobial and bacteriophage-based strategies. Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Food Science, or a related field. Experience in laboratory research and molecular study. Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team. Productive, hard-working and dedicated to completing assigned tasks.
