Research Assistant in the Center for Translational Medical Devices - Dr. Rafael Song

The Center for Translational Medical Devices at NYU Abu Dhabi is seeking a Research Assistant to develop a glaucoma implant. Candidates should have a BS in engineering or biomedical fields, two years of lab experience, and strong skills in computational modeling (ANSYS, COMSOL). The Center for Translational Medical Devices (CENTMED) at New York University Abu Dhabi seeks to recruit a research assistant to join this new initiative, which focuses on designing and developing novel medical devices for ultimate human use.

The successful applicant will join a project to develop a glaucoma implant. This project entails computational modeling, implant design and manufacturing, optimization, and preclinical experiments using an animal model. The candidate will be working closely with a team of ophthalmologists.

Applicants must have a BS in an engineering or biomedical-related discipline, two years of experience in a laboratory setting, and an ability to work independently and collaboratively within a small team; with strong organization, communication, problem-solving and time management skills. High proficiency in English is required. Excellent computational modeling skills using ANSYS and COMSOL are strongly preferred.
