Job Description
The Council on Energy, Environment and Water (CEEW) is hiring a Research Intern for Sustainable Mobility in New Delhi. The intern will assist in research on urban mobility initiatives, focusing on e-bus planning and operations in Punjab. Designation offered: Research Intern
– Sustainable Mobility
Reporting to:Programme Associate
Location:Delhi (2
positions)
Duration: 2 months, May-June 2025
Job Summary: CEEW
seeks to hire a research intern to assist the mobility team in its ongoing
research on urban mobility initiatives in Punjab. The job involves supporting bus
electrification, bus operations planning (in the project cities), and
sub-themes such as charging infra development, depots and parking, route
planning, roll-out strategies, and pilots.
Responsibilities and Duties
●Analyse OD patterns, transport user surveys,
traffic data, etc.
●E-bus route planning based on local transport
datasets and spatial analysis
●Developing connectivity and feeder plans for bus
services
●Analysis to develop e-bus charging scheduling
with real-time operational datasets
●Carry out relevant literature reviews, summarize
findings as reports
●Linking bus performance to real time operations,
using KPI matrices developed for cities of Punjab
●Collect datasets from city SPVs/state departments
on bus operations
Shortlisting Criteria
Education and experience
●Master’s degree with specialisation in urban/regional
planning, urban management, transport planning, civil engineering, energy,
public policy, economics and related fields
●Understanding of the bus transport and EV sector
in India is a must
●Candidates with prior experience in electric
mobility are desirable
Key skills
●Must have strong research skills – capability to
carry out literature review is a key requisite, familiarity with research methods
●Familiarity with public policy research
techniques and tools
●Experience in dealing with stakeholders
(industry, academic, government etc.) preferred
●Ability to develop transport pilots and analyse
them for scale up is desirable
●Carrying out data analysis on programmes such as
Excel, Python, R, STATA are desirable
●Excellent writing, communication and
interpersonal skills
●Willingness to work on multi-disciplinary
projects
