Senior Reporter/ Reporter
insiratia is seeking a Senior Reporter / Reporter to join our growing news team. inspiratia is one of the leading voices in the energy transition space with a reputation for producing exclusive news and analysis.
We report on a range of sectors including offshore and onshore wind, solar, battery storage, hydrogen, CCS, EVs and even oil & gas. The coverage centers around financing aspects – both primary and secondary – and therefore, prior knowledge of financial reporting would be advantageous but not essential.
The ideal candidate will have prior experience in B2B journalism.
Responsibilities:
• Build and maintain relations with key industry players (we prioritise off diary news)
• Research and verify leads gathered either by yourself or the wider team
• Produce 3-4 well researched and referenced news stories per day
• Pitch in for up to 2 long form pieces per month
• Interview contacts for a written piece and/or podcast episode
• Work with our data team to ensure the highest standards of accuracy are being maintained
Requirements:
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently
• Degree-level or equivalent qualification in Journalism, finance, economics, or environmental science
• 2-3 years of prior experience in a similar role
• Ability to work towards tight deadlines when required
• Demonstrable experience in breaking news stories
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Desirable:
• Demonstrable interest in sustainability, renewable technology, energy infrastructure, or project finance
• Ability to converse in German, French, Spanish or Swedish
• Experience with editing software such as Photoshop and Audacity
• Experience in a fast-paced media or publishing environment, with familiarity with content management systems and skills in copywriting or audio editing
• Prior knowledge of financial reporting
• Prior experience in B2B journalism
Package:
• £32,000–£45,000 per annum, depending on experience, with a performance-based bonus
