Petroplan is seeking a Renewables Lead (APAC) based in Perth, Australia, with at least 7 years of experience in Offshore Wind projects. The role involves leading renewables projects, achieving targets, managing multi-discipline teams, and interacting with clients. Candidates should have a strong background in engineering services and project life cycles. Responsibilities include promoting HSSE culture and supporting business development in the Offshore Wind industry.
Functional Area: Business Line Renewables Physical Location: Perth, Australia Mandatory:Minimum 7 years’ relevant experience in delivering Offshore Wind projects within the Energy industry. Degree in Engineering Desirable:Experience in one or more of the following: Geotechnical New Energies & Decarbonisation (e.g. utility-scale solar / wind, CCUS, offshore electrification, hydrogen. Role Description: The Renewables Lead will be involved with all Renewables (Offshore Wind) related prospects and projects for the COMPANY in Asia Pacific. This role will assume leadership and responsibility for setting and achieving targets, tendering and delivery of OWF studies (typically pre-FID scope e.g., concept & feasibility studies, pre-FEED and FEED) covering also the pre-start activities including planning and project control, set-up and coordination of multi-discipline teams, and interface with Clients and third party teams (the COMPANY overseas offices and subcontractors). A key responsibility will be to ensure the expertise and delivery capability, tools and processes available in the COMPANY APAC region is of high quality with access to global, best in class innovation and technology. Support to business development and proposals will be required as part of securing new work, requiring input to strategy, interaction with Clients, and input to proposals. The role will require a demonstrated capability in Technical and BD within an Engineering Services Company, and strong background in all key stages of the Renewables project life cycle. A good understanding of both technical and non-technical project drivers and constraints is also required. With the COMPANY being a diverse and global organization, the role will require strong communication and team skills to facilitate the coordination and integration of key capabilities and resources potentially present in numerous locations that will be required to deliver projects. Core Responsibilities Continuously promote the COMPANY HSSE culture, ensure its implementation within the team and integrate it in all activities, both internal and external Ensure the Renewables expertise and delivery capability, tools and processes available in the COMPANY APAC region is world class with access to global, best in class innovation and technology. Use existing network in Perth / Australia to allow COMPANY to tender and secure additional work in the Offshore Wind industry. Consult with overseas offices (Europe, Malaysia, Japan, Korea and Taiwan) to deliver OWF studies and grow the business in APAC. Ancillary Responsibilities:Support to Business Development and Proposals in securing OWF project work scopes Skills, Knowledge and Competence:Senior, respected energy professional, who conducts themselves with the integrity and composure representative of COMPANY’ values, policies and principles. Demonstrated experience in the management and delivery of OWF engineering design projects (primarily pre-FID e.g., concept / feasibility studies, pre-FEED and FEED) including planning and control, set-up and coordination of multi-discipline teams, and interface with client and third party teams. Demonstrated track record in development and delivery of innovative OWF engineering design, with drive to maintain the expertise and delivery capability, tools and processes available in the COMPANY APAC region at a world class with access to global, best in class innovation and technology. Demonstrated capability in business line management within an Engineering Services Company, including setting and achieving performance targets. Ability to support Business Development and Proposals in securing new scopes of work, with estimation of resources and effort required. Strong background in all key stages of a OWF development project life cycle, along with a good understanding of both technical and non-technical project drivers and constraints. Excellent communication and team skills to facilitate the coordination and integration of key capabilities and resources potentially present in numerous locations that will be required to deliver projects.
