About the Roles

We are currently seeking to fill the following positions:
• Regulatory Officers
• Senior Regulatory Officers
• Assistant Managers

Under some direction, APS Level 4 Regulatory Officer will:
• Identify and use legislation, instructions, guidelines and procedures to guide assessment of applications and validation of claims relevant to the sections work
• Confidently discuss/escalate complex or difficult issues in a clear, concise and articulate manner with your supervisor as they arise
• Resolve standard enquiries from internal and external stakeholders and provide information and advice as a representative of the work area
• Undertake procedural, clerical, administrative support of operational tasks including research and analysis activities, briefing material and annual reports
• Work independently and collaboratively with relevant teams to support the section to achieve results in a timely manner.

Under limited direction, an APS Level 5 Regulatory Officer will also, in addition to the above:
• Contribute new ideas and maximise the benefits of change, including the identification of opportunities to improve the efficiency of business processes
• Think strategically and contribute to the development of plans, strategies and team goals
• Resolve moderately complex enquiries with limited direction and apply judgement and knowledge when dealing with legislation and guidance materials.

Under limited direction, the APS Level 6 Senior Regulatory Officer will:
• Provide guidance and support on CER programs – including the ability to interpret and apply legislation, policy and procedures to identify complex situations
• Provide advice and subject matter expertise for CER schemes – including ability to interpret and apply legislation, policy and procedures to complex situations and strategic discussions
• Deliver quality outputs for a team, this may include but not limited to:
• working collaboratively with cross functional teams on procurement process, strategic planning, evaluations, contract management, project work and
• the allocation/development of specialist, professional and/or technical resources, undertake regular quality assurance checks, manage any potential/identified risks and provide feedback to peers.
• Contribute to the development and delivery of cross agency compliance programs to prevent, detect and address non-compliance across the schemes the CER administers
• Prepare executive briefing material and analytical reports
• Evaluate and analyse complex information and data, apply research to solve problems and effectively make informed decisions
• Supervise and support development of APS staff as required.

Working with independence, the Executive Level 1 Assistant Manager will:
• Work collaboratively and collegially to lead and develop a multi-disciplinary team to deliver quality outputs within statutory/agreed timeframes, as well as assisting in the day-to-day management of the section
• Manage priorities and strategic direction to successfully deliver/achieve section, division and agency scheme objectives and goals
• Develop and maintain the quality of section capabilities, including administrative, reporting, contract management, specialist, professional and/or technical expertise
• Apply professional judgement to make or recommend and communicate robust regulatory decisions, and evaluating risks in the context of a complex and evolving environment
• Interpret and develop complex scheme compliance policies, which require the detailed analysis of diverse data and views and where a range of viable options/solutions are available,
• Develop and implement improvements to processes to meet agency objectives and legislative requirements
• Lead and take responsibility for managing work projects, and report progress to senior management
• Collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders to identify regulation and compliance enhancement opportunities, achieve effective compliance outcomes and facilitate compliance cooperation among key stakeholders and
• Lead the preparation of complex/sensitive reports and briefs to Ministers, senior management, agency committees and/or for investigative action.
