About the Role
Solar Design Engineer Opportunity
We are seeking a meticulous electrical design engineer with expertise in designing and optimising renewable energy systems. The ideal candidate will be passionate about clean energy technologies, possess a strong engineering background, and have a talent for developing efficient and compliant electrical solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design and develop electrical systems for solar PV installations, including single-line diagrams, wiring schematics, and equipment layouts.
• Perform electrical load calculations, wiring sizing, voltage drop assessments, and inverter selection to deliver optimised designs.
• Conduct feasibility studies, site assessments, and technical analyses for solar and integrated energy projects.
• Ensure designs comply with all relevant industry standards and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with project managers, structural engineers, and installation teams to achieve high-performing system designs.
• Research and specify electrical components, including inverters, switchgear, and protective equipment.
• Support the permitting process, including DNO applications and planning submissions to local authorities.
• Provide technical evaluations and recommend design improvements based on equipment and system performance.
• Assist with commissioning and troubleshooting to ensure safe and reliable operation of installed systems.
• Prepare technical proposals, presentations, and documentation for stakeholders.
• Coordinate and monitor team deliverables to ensure project milestones are met efficiently.
