Real Estate Attorney – Renewable Energy

Compensation: Competitive base salary, bonus, and equity package

A leading independent power company at the forefront of renewable energy development is seeking an experienced Real Estate Attorney to join its dynamic legal team. With major projects across the Americas, this organization is committed to advancing the clean energy transition while fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.

About the Role:

The Real Estate Attorney will play a critical role in supporting the acquisition, development, financing, leasing, and sale of properties for renewable energy projects. The successful candidate will lead real estate transactions, provide strategic legal guidance, and partner closely with project development teams from early site selection through construction and operation.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead due diligence, negotiations, and closing of real estate transactions (land acquisitions, leases, easements, rights-of-way). Manage real estate components of M&A and finance transactions, including title and survey review. Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of real estate agreements and related legal documents. Identify and mitigate legal risks associated with real estate assets and transactions. Support project teams throughout the development lifecycle of renewable energy projects. Oversee or manage real estate-related litigation as needed.

Key Qualifications:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school. Expertise in complex real estate transactions and project finance structures. Familiarity with land use considerations for renewable energy projects. Excellent negotiation, drafting, and problem-solving skills. Strong interpersonal communication and a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset.
