Our client, a leading developer in the renewable energy sector, is seeking an experienced Renewable Energy Project Manager to oversee the development and execution of solar and wind energy projects. This is a fully remote position, enabling you to manage projects from anywhere in the US. You will be responsible for the entire project lifecycle, from initial feasibility studies and site selection to financing, construction, and commissioning. Your role will involve managing budgets, timelines, cross-functional teams, and external stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the development of renewable energy projects, including site assessment, resource analysis, and permitting. Manage all aspects of project execution, including engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC). Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets, ensuring projects are completed on time and within financial constraints. Coordinate with internal teams (engineering, finance, legal) and external partners (developers, contractors, consultants, utilities) to ensure project milestones are met. Identify and mitigate project risks, developing contingency plans as necessary. Oversee the negotiation and management of contracts with vendors, suppliers, and service providers. Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental, safety, and regulatory standards. Monitor project performance, track key metrics, and provide regular progress reports to senior management. Foster strong relationships with landowners, community stakeholders, and government agencies. Contribute to the continuous improvement of project management processes and methodologies within the organization. Manage relationships with financing partners and ensure adherence to financial agreements.
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Business, or a related field. A Master's degree or PMP certification is a strong asset. A minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, with a significant focus on renewable energy projects (solar, wind, or other), is required. Proven experience in managing budgets exceeding $10 million and leading complex, multi-disciplinary projects is essential. Strong understanding of renewable energy technologies, market dynamics, and regulatory frameworks is necessary. Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills are critical.
