Job Description

Wood Mackenzie is seeking a Renewable Energy Monitoring Technician to support sensor network operations in the US southeast and lower 48 states. The role involves regular travel, installation and maintenance of monitoring systems, data validation, troubleshooting, and collaboration with team members. Candidates will utilize field service software and work under various environmental conditions. This is a full-time position with no degree requirement.
Technical Job Description:

This role supports the growth and operational needs of our comprehensive sensor network across the US southeast region and lower 48 states. As a Field Agent I, you will work directly with our sensor network operations team to successfully deploy, maintain, and calibrate our extensive network of real-time monitoring systems. This critical function is designed to foster collaboration and innovative solutions among team members.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Regular travel throughout the lower 48 states and potential trips to Canada (averaging 4 days per week).
• Installation of advanced monitoring systems near power generation facilities, utilizing wireless technologies to measure power line flow without direct contact.
• Close collaboration with colleagues to plan and execute complex sensor installations, identify technical issues, and oversee equipment logistics.
• Data validation and quality assurance for newly deployed sensors, ensuring accurate and reliable performance.
• Ongoing maintenance of existing monitoring systems within our expansive network.
• Thorough troubleshooting and component replacement for faulty system elements, either remotely or on-site.
• Adeptness in operating under varied environmental conditions.
• Site selection and liaison development with private landowners for effective monitoring site placement.
• Comprehensive utilization of field service software platforms, such as Salesforce, to streamline inventory management, task assignments, and client interactions.
