Renewable Energy Installation Technician

Job Summary:

Mortenson is seeking a skilled Wind Ironworker to install structural steel components on wind turbines. As a key member of our crew, you will be responsible for setting up and inspecting cranes, inspecting rigging properly, and running site levels.

Key Responsibilities:
• Setting up flagging and inspecting cranes
• Inspecting rigging properly and running site levels
• Directing forklift/crane operations and counting rebar
• Using pliers to tie rebar intersections and splicing mats or rebar sections together
• Installing mechanical rebar splices and caps on vertical rebar dowels for safety
• Determining the number, size, shape, and location of reinforcing rods from blueprints
• Bending steel rods with hand tools or rodbending machines and reinforcing concrete with wire mesh
• Ornamental Ironworker: Installing prefabricated ornamental ironwork

Requirements and Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or GED
• Equipment certifications as required
• 1 year of related experience preferred
• Must possess a valid driver's license of proper class and necessary endorsements as required by law
