Job Description
b19 Consulting is seeking a Renewable Energy Engineering Manager in Overland Park, KS, to lead a team in designing utility-scale solar and battery energy storage projects. Candidates should have a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, a PE license in Kansas, and 7-10 years of relevant experience. Responsibilities include mentoring engineers, managing projects, and maintaining client relationships. Proficiency in design tools and strong communication skills are essential.
We are looking for a Renewable Energy focused Engineering Manager to join a growing consulting firm that are working with the top developers and IOU's across the country.

Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
Professional Engineer (PE) license in Kansas is preferred.
7-10 years of experience in Renewable Design or a related field.
Leadership and mentoring experience, with the ability to guide a small team of engineers.
Strong knowledge of relevant codes and industry standards, including NESC, NEC, RUS Bulletins, IEEE, and IEC standards.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Mathcad, and other design tools.
Familiarity with design tools like PVcase, PVsyst, Aspen One-Liner, ETAP, SKM Power Tools, WinIGS, and GroundMat is desirable.
Experience with Inverter Based Resources (IBRs) in PV and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects.
Understanding of PV racking design for both fixed and tracking installations.
Ability to conduct system studies such as short circuit, voltage drop, power flow, grounding, and cable thermal derating.
Knowledge of PV/BESS equipment and interconnection processes, including utility requirements.
Experience designing collector systems (typically 34.5kV) including underground cabling, separable connectors, and sectionalizing equipment.
Capable of developing control objectives, operator interfaces, and design criteria.
Strong knowledge of power systems and integration of IBRs into utility transmission systems.
Ability to manage multiple projects within deadlines and budgets.
Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams and offices.
Project management and scheduling experience.
Proficiency in office software, including MS Office and Teams.
Ability to work in a multi-office, multi-discipline team environment.
Occasional travel for site visits and client meetings.
Responsibilities:
Lead and guide a team of Engineers, Designers, and Drafters in developing renewable project design packages.
Mentor and support team members growth and development.
Build and maintain client relationships based on work quality and success.
Oversee the Renewables Design Team in creating design packages in line with client standards.
Serve as Engineer of Record (EOR) when necessary, sealing design drawings.
Interact with internal teams and external vendors/clients regularly.
Assist in developing proposals, scopes, estimates, schedules, and feasibility studies.
Work collaboratively with multi-discipline engineering teams to develop project design packages.
Lead the creation of renewable design drawings, including general arrangements, layouts, conduit plans, single-line diagrams, grounding details, BOMs, and lightning protection plans.
Prepare bid documents and material specifications.
Review vendor submissions and provide analysis and feedback.
Generate reports as needed.
Ensure timely completion of work to meet project milestones and deadlines.
Mentor engineers within the group.
Provide engineering expertise to solve design challenges and meet client requirements.
Maintain continual interaction with internal teams and external vendors or clients
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $140,000.00 - $170,000.00 per year
