About the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management
The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) is responsible for managing the nation's offshore resources. We seek to balance economic development, energy independence, and environmental protection through oil and gas leases, renewable energy development, and environmental reviews.
Job Summary
This position is located within the Department of the Interior, Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, Office of Renewable Energy, Engineering and Technical Review Branch. As a Chief Engineering and Technical Review Branch Manager, you will provide supervision, oversight, and support for a staff of technical professionals in the Engineering and Technical Review Branch for Renewable Energy.
Main Responsibilities
• Monitor and inspect Outer Continental Shelf renewable energy facilities to ensure compliance with requirements, including operational and environmental lease and grant stipulations.
• Provide expertise in the preparation and review of documents describing and evaluating engineering and environmental policy issues relating to renewable energy activities.
• Make recommendations for technology studies and research related to the design and installation, and operational monitoring of offshore renewable energy facilities.
• Provide subject matter expert advice on lease and grant stipulations relating to the operational safety of the activities to be conducted on renewable energy leases and/or grants.
Requirements
To qualify for this position, you must meet the Specialized Experience requirement, which includes experience working on the design, siting, construction, maintenance, or regulatory review/oversight of utility-scale offshore wind projects, or equivalent experience in a closely related field.
