About the position

The Renewable Energy Engine Plant Technician is responsible for managing the Landfill Gas to Energy Facility to maximize production while ensuring safety, environmental compliance, and timely maintenance. This role acts as a plant owner, available as needed to meet operational objectives and facility needs.

Responsibilities
• Manage the Landfill Gas to Energy Facility to maximize production and ensure safe work practices.
,
• Evaluate operational data to plan actions and manage production capacity, reducing operating expenses and equipment downtime.
,
• Inspect ongoing activities for safety and environmental compliance, adhering to Standard Operating Procedures.
,
• Ensure compliance with operational requirements of the air permit, including emissions testing and documentation.
,
• Coordinate with third-party vendors for scheduled maintenance and compliance issues.
,
• Manage relationships with power/gas purchasers regarding facility operations and compliance with agreements.
,
• Inspect, repair, maintain, and service plant machinery and equipment according to procedures and manuals.
,
• Implement safety policies and ensure compliance by all staff and visitors at the facility.
,
• Complete mandatory safety and operational training as assigned.
,
• Procure plant supplies and manage the annual budget efficiently.
,
• Respond to plant shutdowns during non-business hours to diagnose and rectify issues promptly.
,
• Identify backup staff and manage call-out schedules for plant emergencies.
,
• Maintain spare inventory and provide written counts biannually.
,
• Conduct plant tours to support community relations and represent the facility as a technical expert.
,
• Participate in public forums for business development and community education.
,
• Complete special assignments as required by management.

Requirements
• High School Diploma or GED (accredited).
,
• 5 years of relevant work experience diagnosing and repairing internal combustion engines and cooling systems.
,
• Valid driver's license.
,
• Fundamental knowledge of computer data entry and interpretation.
,
• Ability to manage fiduciary responsibilities.
,
• Ability to lift a minimum of 100 lbs.
,
• Ability to travel up to 15% with overnight stays.
,
• Ability to diagnose and repair DC circuits (12/24 volts).
,
• Basic knowledge of 120/240/480 3-phase AC circuits.
,
• Understanding of 4160 volt circuits.
,
• Familiarity with basic principles of building maintenance.
