Renewable Energy Control Room Specialist

Your Role:
• Utilize HMI tools to efficiently monitor incoming fiber, manage the drying and pellet production processes, and oversee the transfer of pellets to railcars.
• Ensure that safety concerns are communicated effectively to both plant employees and the leadership team.
• Maintain Drax's standards of cleanliness and safety in the workspace, engaging all team members in the process.
• Utilize Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for chemicals used in production and ensure all staff are well-trained in their use.
• Complete the Plant Operator Development Program training as required for each level.
• Communicate effectively via radio, adhering to Drax's Radio Usage Procedure for clarity and efficiency.
• Actively participate in the Drax Occupational Health & Safety Committee to promote a culture of safety.
• Provide leadership in the pellet manufacturing process, ensuring compliance with safety, production, and quality standards.
• Maintain composure during emergencies, guiding plant employees through difficult situations.
• Troubleshoot operational issues and provide direction for efficient resolution.
• Offer mentorship and technical training to meet the needs of your peers and support the development of new operators.
• Coordinate holiday planning to ensure ongoing plant coverage.
• Communicate with various departments including HR, Safety, and Training to facilitate smooth operations.
• Monitor all equipment essential for pellet production, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
• Oversee adjustments to fiber mixes and guide Loader Operators based on material specifications.
• Continuously analyze the HMI system to identify and address potential issues.
• Engage in detailed shift handover discussions to ensure continuity in operations.
• Communicate fiber requirements clearly and efficiently to support uninterrupted production.
• Address housekeeping needs to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• Conduct moisture content testing and maintain accurate reporting.
• Direct operations regarding fiber mixing and railcar loading effectively for smooth transitions.
The Ideal Candidate:
• Experienced in operating heavy mobile equipment safely and efficiently.
• Capable of completing documentation and checklists for cleanup and loading processes.
• Adaptable to evolving work schedules and tasks.
• A strong team player with excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Possesses a high school diploma or equivalent; experience in heavy industry is a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Demonstrates good mechanical aptitude.
• Holds a valid Driver's license.
