Job Description

Amazon is seeking a Renewable Energy Certificates Portfolio Specialist for its Energy Portfolio Operations team in Seattle, WA. The role involves managing post-procurement REC activities, ensuring compliance with sustainability objectives, and collaborating with various teams on energy initiatives. Candidates should have experience with RECs, energy transactions, and project management. The position focuses on operational excellence and supports global renewable power purchase agreements.
The Energy Portfolio Operations (EPO) team is at the forefront of managing Amazon's energy contracts after execution. Our mission is to monitor performance, provide financial oversight for energy expenses, track and enhance environmental attributes to meet our sustainability objectives, and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and policies.

We are seeking a dedicated professional to join our global Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) program. The ideal candidate possesses robust experience with RECs (and their global counterparts), energy transactions, portfolio management, and multiple project management. A strong analytical mindset, familiarity with business processes, and experience in defining and reporting metrics are essential.

Key Responsibilities:
• Manage post-procurement REC activities while achieving operational excellence and sustainability targets.
• Track, allocate, and retire RECs within our global portfolio.
• Become a subject matter expert on REC frameworks, schemes, and transactions to enhance our energy initiatives.
• Assist in managing renewable power purchase agreements globally and ensure contractual obligations with partners are met.
• Facilitate the onboarding process for new contracts across different regions, including setting up REC registry accounts.
• Support settlement activities such as reconciliations, issue resolution, and overall transaction management.
• Analyze and report on portfolio performance in collaboration with various teams, understanding its implications for our business and customers.
• Proactively plan and execute initiatives to streamline our operations and enhance efficiency in managing our energy portfolio.
• Collaborate with other Amazon teams to effectively manage energy programs.

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• 1-3 years of experience in analytics, front/back office roles
• Experience with data modeling and visualization tools

Preferred Qualifications:
• Prior experience in the utility or energy industry, including compliance, regulatory matters, asset or contract management, or market operations

Location: Seattle, WA. The anticipated salary range for this position is $119,200.00 - $161,300.00 USD annually.
