What to Expect (Job Responsibilities) :
• Produce visual impact assessments (VIA) under the guidance of the Visual Resources Practice Lead
• Coordinate contributions from a diverse technical team, including GIS and simulation specialists
• Conduct project site visits, requiring occasional travel (10-20% annually)
• Provide planning and permitting support for power generation and transmission projects
• Manage multiple projects while maintaining attention to detail
What is Required (Qualifications) :
• 3 to 5 years of experience in producing or supporting visual impact assessments
• Strong research, analysis, and reporting skills, with a focus on technical writing
• Ability to read and interpret site layouts, topographic maps, and other related documents
• Commitment to high-quality work and a strong work ethic
• Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications) :
• Experience with VIAs compliant with the National Environmental Policy Act and state environmental review criteria
• Familiarity with federal agencies and their assessment methods for visual effects
• Experience with DSLR cameras, Autodesk 3ds Max, and Adobe Creative Cloud
• Knowledge of shadow flicker analyses for wind energy projects
• Training in environmental science or a related field
