Job Description:
The Reliability Specialist is responsible for managing and organizing spare parts inventory, coordinating preventive maintenance schedules, and providing administrative support to the maintenance team. This role ensures that spare parts are readily available for equipment repairs, preventive maintenance is conducted on schedule, and maintenance records are accurately kept. The position plays a key role in minimizing downtime and ensuring smooth, continuous production.
Qualifications
Essential Job Functions:
• Inventory Management:
• Maintain accurate records of spare parts inventory and manage stock levels to prevent shortages or overstock.
• Track the receipt, storage, and issuance of spare parts and supplies.
• Identify critical spare parts and ensure they are available for emergency repairs.
• Conduct regular inventory audits and cycle counts to maintain accurate inventory records.
• Coordinate with suppliers for timely procurement of parts, comparing prices and managing lead times.
• Preventive Maintenance Scheduling:
• Assist in developing and maintaining a preventive maintenance schedule for all manufacturing equipment.
• Track and schedule preventive maintenance tasks, ensuring all work is performed on time.
• Coordinate with maintenance technicians and supervisors to prioritize preventive maintenance activities based on production needs.
• Document completed preventive maintenance activities and update records accordingly.
• Documentation and Record-Keeping:
• Maintain detailed records of equipment maintenance, repairs, and part usage.
• Prepare reports on maintenance activities, inventory levels, and costs as required by management.
• Track warranty and service agreements for equipment and spare parts.
• Ensure maintenance documents, manuals, and safety data sheets are up-to-date and accessible.
• Support Maintenance Team :
• Provide administrative support to the maintenance team, including ordering parts, managing work orders, and assisting with scheduling.
• Assist with troubleshooting spare parts and maintenance issues, and work with suppliers or vendors when needed.
• Communicate with production and maintenance teams to minimize downtime and ensure efficient use of resources.
• Health and Safety Compliance:
• Adhere to all safety and compliance guidelines, ensuring a safe and organized storage area for spare parts.
• Assist in maintaining a clean and orderly parts storage area in line with safety and 5S practices.
• Report any unsafe conditions or equipment to the supervisor.
Education and Experience:
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical or vocational training is a plus.
• Previous experience in inventory management, maintenance, or a similar role in a manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and inventory software.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Basic knowledge of maintenance procedures and manufacturing equipment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) or similar software.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with various departments.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to lift and move parts up to 50 lbs.
• Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment, which may involve exposure to noise, heat, or heavy machinery.
• Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods .
