Base pay range

$51,000.00/yr - $76,731.00/yr

The Piedmont Triad Regional Council is hiring a Regional Planner or Senior Regional Planner. We are looking for candidates who can provide rural transportation planning support as well as land use planning expertise. We have 76 local governments in our region and the different communities in our region need your expertise if you are the right candidate. Each of our communities has different planning needs and rely on the Regional Council to help solve those needs.

Responsibilities

The ideal candidate for the Regional Planner is passionate about regional land use and transportation planning and supporting PTRC's member governments. You will use your superb verbal and written communication skills to interact with a variety of individuals, including local government staff, granting agencies, the general public, and elected officials. Additional duties may include work on environmental initiatives, including air and water quality, support of transportation, trail and recreation planning.

Qualifications

The candidate for Regional Planner would have academic preparation up to a Master’s degree in planning or a related field with a minimum of 5 years' experience in planning or related field. The ideal candidate will have accomplished an AICP professional certification and can distinguish themselves with a CZO, GISP, or additional certifications. An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.
