Are you ready to advance your career to the next level as a leader in public health? The Tennessee Department of Health is seeking a Medical Doctor to serve as Regional Medical Director in the Mid-Cumberland Region near Nashville, TN. The Mid-Cumberland Regional Medical Director oversees and supports the regional health services of twelve local health department clinics. Programs include childhood vaccinations, women's and children's nutrition, STD testing, family planning, emergency preparedness, and primary care. This position reports to the State Medical Director and is part of Community Health Services.

Job Overview:

The Mid-Cumberland Region of the Tennessee Department of Health provides primary care services in eleven (11) counties in the region by staffing safety-net clinical sites. These clinics are staffed by both physicians and advanced practice nurses and serve the uninsured and underinsured population.

Key Responsibilities:
• Cultivates a climate of excellence, trust, and compassion.
• Remains up to date on best practices in medicine with a focus on patient-centered care.
• Collaborates with other regional, metropolitan, and state leaders to implement improvements in access to care.
• Active leader in clinical staffing, seeing patients one day per week.

Minimum Qualifications:
• MD or DO degree
• Valid and unrestricted Tennessee medical license
• Valid DEA license
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in a primary care specialty such as Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.
