About The Role
This role is responsible for leading the renewable energy development strategy in Queensland, driving wind, solar, and battery storage projects from origination to construction. It involves shaping long-term project vision, navigating regulatory and policy environments, building strong stakeholder relationships, and ensuring timely, risk-managed delivery of project milestones.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the Queensland development team across greenfield renewable energy projects.
• Manage planning and environmental approvals, including EIS and EPBC processes.
• Oversee project development activities: engineering, grid, design, pre-construction, and financing.
• Build strong relationships with landholders, Traditional Owners, communities, and regulatory bodies.
• Manage external consultants to deliver quality reports on time and within budget.
• Ensure robust project management across scheduling, risk, cost, documentation, and compliance.
• Ensure all development activities meet legal, HSE, and commercial standards.
• Contribute to industry engagement, strategic insights, and advocacy.
Qualifications & Experience
• Proven leadership in renewables, utilities, or power generation.
• Experienced in managing cross-functional teams.
• Strong commercial acumen and expertise in large-scale project development.
• Strategic thinker with sound decision-making underpinned by results.
• In-depth knowledge of Australian energy policy, regulation, and grid.
• Skilled in complex stakeholder negotiations, including with government and industry partners.
